Postmemory

The voices and accounts of the prisoners and their families, who are the main characters in this project, create an outlook that illuminates, humanises and renders great significance to the historic documents contained in this website

We gather here a series of recollections by the relatives of women imprisoned at Les Corts.

Their looking back and reminiscing through their childlike eyes at the time when they visited their mothers or aunts is highly significant. Always and everywhere, life in prison rises above its own walls and leaves a lifetime mark on families and memories.

Enriqueta Borrás, ‘Irma’ (Barcelona, 1934) was a prisoner’s child and her story is defined by that fact.
